A Frank Take

Thank You for Putting Up With Our Indecision, Authoritarianism, and Greed

A sign of the times.

The state of Rhode Island may have stumbled onto something. Those digital signs thanking motorists for their patience as the Washington Bridge is unhurriedly repaired represent a much greater opportunity.

Place them next to the old-fashioned signs welcoming motorists to West Greenwich. “Thanks for your patience as we allowed forestland to be clear-cut to make way for solar panels while we did little to nothing to direct renewable energy development onto already-marred spaces, of which we have plenty.”

Put them along roadsides statewide. “Thanks for your patience as we further study the idea of banning nips and other single-use plastics that are polluting the environment for no good reason. Remember, it took us a decade to ban plastic retail shopping bags.”

Stick a few in front of the Statehouse. “Thanks for your patience as we wait to be sued before we do anything bold to reduce the amount of carbon emissions being belched in the state. By the way, we’re also creating another special commission to study the impacts of the climate crisis. We’ll then spend the next several years studying its recommendations.”

As I wait for the Democratic Party to eventually realize we are being attacked from within — the Party’s decades of timid, corporate-centrist governance allowed this slow-moving insurrection to persist — here are some other mini-takes:

On Saturday, No Kings protests will be held across the country, including at the Statehouse in Providence (mall side) beginning at 1 p.m. The D.C. depraved who are ordering militias, without cause, from one state to evade cites in another, encouraging ICE goons to menace brown people, and using the military to murder another country’s civilians off the coast of Venezuela by blowing up boats and then joking about it have the gall to call those protesting the regime’s unconstitutional barbarity, with signs, jeers, costumes, and song, terrorists who hate America. Take a good look in the mirror, MAGA.

Speaking of the deplorables, their latest gimmick of political theater is to label Antifa a “domestic terrorist organization.” Antifa is a feeling, a belief. It’s not a unified organization. There are no members, no leaders, no local chapters. That ambiguity makes it convenient for a regime bent on punishing those who don’t embrace their hatred, bigotry, and oppression to grab, beat, detain, and terrorize anyone by simply calling them Antifa.

For example, the secretary of transportation, a former TV presenter, recently said the No Kings protest is really frustrating because they are all paid Antifa people. Some 5 million people marched nationwide in June in the first No Kings protests and millions more are expected to this weekend. Even if everyone is being paid just a dollar, that’s some serious cash the MAGA bogeyman, George Soros, is throwing around.

MAGA propagandists immediately heeded the Mad King’s orders. A Newsmax host defended regime cowards shooting a Presbyterian minister multiple times, including in the head, with pepper balls by claiming Rev. David Black was “actually an Antifa member masquerading as a pastor.”

Antifa is short for anti-fascist. U.S. service members who fought Nazis in World War II were Antifa founders.

The vice president of fascism recently called crime “out of control” in the United States. He lied. As of last year, crime rates are significantly lower than their peak, with violent crime rates falling by about 50% from the 1990s high.

The pathetic liar has said options such as the Insurrection Act of 1807, which allows the president to deploy the military domestically in cases of insurrection or rebellion, might be needed because violence is preventing the functioning of federal laws. The federal government isn’t functioning now because MAGAs don’t know how to govern and, more importantly, they want to further reward the filthy rich with more tax breaks while taking away or jacking up the cost of heath care for tens of millions of Americans. They also don’t want human beings without proper papers to be cared for in emergency departments. Let them die. There’s golf to play, yachts to buy, and a ballroom to build.

He said “there are places in Chicago where people are afraid to take their children … for fear of gun violence, for fear of gang drive-by shootings.” There’s at least one place where a minster can be shot multiple times by a gang for leading a peaceful protest.

Not that it matters to MAGAs, but violent crime has been falling at unprecedented rates in the biggest U.S. cities, including Chicago. Chicago isn’t even in the top four large cities with the highest murder rate — those are in states that overwhelmingly voted for the Mad King.

The VP of fascism, as with all MAGAs from coast to coast, lives to lie. The evidence is overwhelming.

For instance, to fan the embers of a fake violent protest in Portland — to support a domestic military invasion ordered by the fascist-in-chief — MAGAs post on social media that the Oregon city is on fire and protesters are out of control. The problem is the image wasn’t a photograph of a real event in Portland, but, as The Guardian reported, a fabrication created by combining two photographs of scenes that unfolded in South America nearly a decade apart.

The regime is offering wannabe Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers $50,000 bonuses, $60,000 in student debt repayment, and 25% premium pay. When Democrats tried to do something similar to recruit new teachers, MAGAs screamed communism, socialism, or some other such nonsense. Taxpayer money is OK to knock people down but not lift them up.

The government website promoting this ICE offer says “America has been invaded by criminals and predators. We need YOU to get them out.” You can find most of them lurking in the White House or roaming the halls of Congress.

In August, Meta, a pile of nastiness created by the insufferable Mark Zuckerberg, appointed a prominent anti-DEI campaigner as an adviser on artificial intelligence bias. Robby Starbuck immediately began spreading disinformation about crime, protests, shootings, transgender people, and vaccines. He has fraudulently claimed that individual shooters in the United States are motivated by leftist ideology, described faith-based protest groups as communists, and without evidence linked Democratic lawmakers to murders.

Zuckerberg and his loathsome ilk profit by spreading lies and hate and ruining lives. They then try to whitewash their depravity by donating a tiny percentage of their wealth to the social causes — health care, affordable housing, civil rights — they are actively destroying.

All of this indecision, authoritarianism, and greed has given me chronic agita. Perhaps you’ve noticed.

  1. Frank,
You write all doom and gloom. I hope you find some peace in your life. If the democratic way is as good as you say; you should be able to write in a positive way. What is the actual reality?

  2. Frank Thank you for speaking the truth about the fascists, liars and criminals running our country into the ground. Babs sounds like a typical maga idiot hiding her real name.

  3. Hi Frank: I know how you feel. I have so much agita I have started stockpiling my nitroglycerin tablets. It’s funny, I have relatives and friends like Babs who keep rebuking me for obsessing about the growing madness of the Trump regime. The scary, and very sad, thing is they do this because they actually like what is going on.

  4. While I can agree with your frustration at the insanity of the chaos being instigated by Washington, I think you might be interested in a new documentary, produced by the Informed Consent Action Network, found at aninconvenientstudy.com. The Henry Ford Medical Center studied vaccinated and non-vaccinated children through time and found, well, I won’t spoil it for you. Let’s just say that the results were inconvenient for the industry’s narratives. I’m guessing that the 1986 Act, which gave full immunity to vaccine manufacturers because they were paying out too much $$ in damage awards, will be repealed in the near future. The next day after the repeal, I’d guess the CDC-recommended “childhood schedule” for 70 shots before the age of 18 will be scrapped as unnecessary for public health.

  5. Frank, Thank You for telling it like it is! “Thanks for your Patience” is right on! My patience is running out!

  6. It’s always advisable to do some research on a study whose findings contradict established views. The link below shows that “In fact, a spokesperson at Henry Ford Health told journalists seeking comment on the study that it “was not published because it did not meet the rigorous scientific standards we demand as a premier medical research institution.”
