Ways to Give to ecoRI News
ecoRI News is registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit newsroom that covers environmental and climate justice issues in southern New England.
We provide our news and information for free. No paywall ever. It’s a model we’re proud of, but one that only works because of the generous support of readers who give what they can to make our work possible.
The most common way for readers to support ecoRI News’ journalism is by making a one-time donation or by becoming a monthly sustaining member with a recurring gift of any size. You may make your gift in honor of a loved one by making note of it in the online giving form.

Leadership Gifts
The Publisher’s Circle recognizes donors who contribute $1,000 or more in total giving annually to ecoRI News. Support at this level is critical to sustaining our newsroom, and this support gives reporters the necessary resources to cover critical environmental issues impacting Rhode Island. Benefits include:
- Invitations to select events including the opportunity to meet with the ecoRI News editor, publisher and board president
- Recognition at ecoRI News’ annual Zero-Trash Birthday Bash
- Insider updates from the ecoRI News publisher about ongoing and new initiatives at ecoRI News
While we accept gifts from individuals and organizations, this funding does not to direct any of our editorial decisions. Our editorial judgments are made independently. ecoRI News is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and all donations are tax-deductible. Our EIN is 26-4267233.
