Rhode Island Forest Conservators Organization (RIFCO) is hosting a series of three workshops for woodland owners. This, the first workshop, focuses on forest conservation strategies and old growth forest ecology. The three sessions of this workshop are as follows:
Session 1: Rare Species, Natural Heritage Areas, and Biodiversity with David W. Gregg, executive director, Rhode Island Natural History Survey
Session 2: Old Growth Characteristics, History, & Ecology with Fern Graves, Forest Stewardship Program Coordinator at Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management
Session 3: Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management’s Forest Stewardship & Invasive Plant Control Programs with Nancy Stairs, Cooperative Forestry Program Supervisor at Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management
This workshop is free to RIFCO members and $10 for nonmembers.
