DESCRIPTION:Rhode Island Forest Conservators Organization (RIFCO) is hosting a series of three workshops for woodland owners. This\, the first workshop\, focuses on forest conservation strategies and old growth forest ecology. The three sessions of this workshop are as follows:\nSession 1: Rare Species\, Natural Heritage Areas\, and Biodiversity with David W. Gregg\, executive director\, Rhode Island Natural History Survey\nSession 2: Old Growth Characteristics\, History\, & Ecology with Fern Graves\, Forest Stewardship Program Coordinator at Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management\nSession 3: Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management’s Forest Stewardship & Invasive Plant Control Programs with Nancy Stairs\, Cooperative Forestry Program Supervisor at Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management\nThis workshop is free to RIFCO members and $10 for nonmembers.
