The Acadia Center, Climate Action Rhode Island, Clean Water Action, and Green Energy Consumers Alliance will host a press event in response to Gov. Dan McKee’s budget proposal, which includes major rollbacks to Rhode Island’s clean energy commitments. The event, “Clean Energy Is Affordable Energy,” will feature a program of speakers addressing the proposals in the budget to delay the Renewable Energy Standard to 2050, cap funding for energy efficiency programs, and levy a substantial fee on solar developers, among others. Speakers will highlight how these changes undermine the foundation needed to build a secure, stable, and affordable clean energy future for Rhode Islanders.
