SUMMARY:Clean Energy is Affordable Energy: Press Event
DESCRIPTION:The Acadia Center\, Climate Action Rhode Island\, Clean Water Action\, and Green Energy Consumers Alliance will host a press event in response to Gov. Dan McKee’s budget proposal\, which includes major rollbacks to Rhode Island’s clean energy commitments. The event\, “Clean Energy Is Affordable Energy\,” will feature a program of speakers addressing the proposals in the budget to delay the Renewable Energy Standard to 2050\, cap funding for energy efficiency programs\, and levy a substantial fee on solar developers\, among others. Speakers will highlight how these changes undermine the foundation needed to build a secure\, stable\, and affordable clean energy future for Rhode Islanders.
