“Around Alone” tells the story of Dodge Morgan’s solo circumnavigation in his custom-built 60-foot sailing vessel American Promise. In 1985, Morgan set out to sail alone nonstop around the world, becoming the first American to do so. Filmed using automatic cameras mounted throughout the boat, this documentary offers a rare look into the grit, determination, and profound connection between sailors and the sea. The boat is now owned and operated by the nonprofit Rozalia Project and will be anchored in Newport the weekend of the screening. Ticket sales will benefit the Rozalia Project.
