Let the experts be your guide to the ecosystems, plants, animals, and fungi in Southern New England in this six-program series offered by Audubon Society of Rhode Island. Explore Audubon wildlife refuges with scientists and skilled naturalists who will provide both indoor lectures and outdoor investigations. Each session provides a new layer of insight, culminating in a solid base of knowledge for beginner naturalists. Resources, such as field guides, will be shared. All participants will receive a complimentary copy of “Rhode Island Birding Trails,” the Audubon Society of Rhode Island guide to over 60 places to bird watch in the Ocean State. Sessions are Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 16, Aug 23, Sept. 13, Sept. 20, Oct. 4, and Oct. 11. Deadline to register is Aug. 15. Cost is $300 for members and $350 for nonmembers.
