Backyard orchards, gardens and livestock are key – as are decentralized harvesting, distribution and data collection strategies (to prove it’s happening). Some are working on this, but it will take lots more buy-in and enthusiasm to get to (and document) this 50%.
That said, the 43 year time-frame is entirely meaningless. Kind of like saying "my grandkids should do this, ’cause I’m not about to." Why are we pushing our goals off nearly 2 generations? How about smaller goals with 5-year windows?
