Mapping Rhode Island’s Agricultural Heritage

Gather with Rhode Island Natural History Survey members and friends to take a look back at 2025 and forward to 2026. Speaker will be Elliot Vosburgh, creator of the R.I. Stone Wall Mapping Project. Rhode Island’s stone walls stand as a memorial to a period of agricultural activity that reached its zenith two centuries ago. Beyond their cultural significance, thousands of miles of walls that crisscross the state affect local ecology, climate, and hydrology, among other impacts. This event is free and open to the public, but reservations are appreciated.
