The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) will host a public meeting to update stakeholders on ongoing environmental restoration efforts at the former Charlestown Naval Auxiliary Landing Field. The meeting will provide an overview of ongoing environmental investigation and cleanup work at the former Navy site, a 631-acre area that includes the Ninigret National Wildlife Refuge and Ninigret Park. USACE is also seeking feedback on forming a Restoration Advisory Board. Attendees are invited to complete a brief questionnaire, available in person or online, to share their concerns, suggest ways to involve the community, and indicate how they prefer to receive updates on the cleanup project.
