State leadership has failed the people of Rhode Island this legislative session when it comes to climate action. Only one of the 20 bills Climate Action Rhode Island endorsed passed. These bills, like so many others, were meant to take the steps we need if we want to have a livable future and avert climate catastrophe. To mark this year’s disappointment, CARI will stage some political theater — a funeral ceremony to mark the “passing” (death) of all of these bills. Together, we’ll honor the work, grieve the losses, and recommit to the fight.
