The Rhode Island Forest Conservators Organization’s annual spring program will be held at the RIFCO Demonstration Woodlot to observe 20-plus years of forestry and wildlife habitat projects, including: bird ID and habitat improvements; deer browse protection of understory plants (New England’s first slash wall); forest thinning to provide layered bird nesting through the R.I. Forestry for the Birds project; invasive plant removal; and a mushroom log demonstration.
