The Newport Tree Conservancy is calling on community members to roll up their sleeves and help care for Newport’s trees through its Tree Corps Volunteer Program on Saturday mornings. This hands-on opportunity invites volunteers to weed, mulch, and care for young and established trees in parks throughout Newport. With the city’s iconic tree canopy facing the pressures of age, climate change, and urban development, the Tree Corps program plays a vital role in maintaining the health and beauty of Newport’s green spaces. Volunteers are needed weekly to help ensure the city’s trees continue to thrive for generations. No experience is necessary. Tools, gloves, and guidance are provided.
