All submissions will be displayed at the Art League RI gallery in Pawtucket from April 5-27. Three winners from each of the four age divisions will be announced at a ceremony at the gallery on April 17 at 3 p.m. Students were required to submit a statement of no more than 100 words on the theme, “What does ‘The Ocean State’ mean to you?’” Their two-dimensional artwork was limited to 24 inches by 36 inches. Suggested art mediums included illustration, painting, mixed media and collage, and photography. After April 27, the 12 award-winning pieces of art will be showcased at GSO’s Ocean Science & Exploration Center.
