The most recent roadmaps for reaching net zero emissions will require unprecedented land-intensive renewable energy infrastructure that will have significant implications for host communities, plants, animals, and humans. Grace Wu, assistant professor of environmental studies at UC Santa Barbara, will explore ways to consider the land use dimensions and impacts of renewable energy infrastructure planning in a spacially explicit manner and what this means for revamping existing energy planning processes.
