SUMMARY:Ninigret Restoration Advisory Board Initial Public Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers New England District is inviting the public to the first public meeting of the Ninigret Restoration Advisory Board (RAB). The Army Corps is actively investigating the former Charlestown Naval Auxiliary Landing Field under the Defense Environmental Restoration Program as a formerly used defense site. Federal regulations require installations that are undergoing environmental restoration to ask their communities every 24 months if interest exists in forming a restoration advisory committee. The Army Corps New England District found sufficient  support and created the Ninigret RAB\, which comprises 12 members\, including community members\, a representative of Charlestown\, a representative of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service\, and an Army Corps representative.
