DESCRIPTION:Celebrate spring with Daffodil Ride 2026. This free\, family-friendly event invites riders of all ages to enjoy the beauty of over 1.3 million blooming daffodils throughout Newport. The ride begins at Touro Park and ends at Ballard Park\, where over 20\,000 daffodils will greet riders. Prizes will be awarded for the best-decorated bike and daffiest outfit. The ride also includes an exclusive stop at the stunning Bellevue House gardens\, where thousands of daffodils will be in bloom.

SUMMARY:Keep Bristol Clean Town Cleanup
DESCRIPTION:Keep Bristol Clean’s 37th annual town-wide cleanup will begin at the Bristol Department of Public Works\, where refreshments will be served. Participants will receive supplies and then set out to various locations around Bristol to collect litter. The cleanup will take place rain or shine. Volunteers are needed for the success of this community effort. You may adopt a spot to clean up by letting organizers know when you arrive\, or you may elect to be assigned to a location in special need. Many of Bristol’s open space\, natural areas\, and coastal areas will be addressed this year. Long-sleeve shirts\, long pants\, and closed-toe shoes are suggested. No pre-registration is needed.

Join ecoRI News for a clothing swap to refresh your wardrobe for free\, clear out closet clutter\, and connect with your community—all while keeping clothing out of the landfill. Come anytime between 11 a.m.-1 p.m.. Setup begins at 11 a.m.\, and swapping begins at 11:30 a.m. Clothing of all seasons\, styles\, and sizes is welcome — including kids clothes. Please no underwear. Bring your own reusable bags to bring your finds home. All leftover items will be donated to charity. This event is free and open to the public but registration is recommended.

DESCRIPTION:Join the Newport Restoration Foundation for a free community celebration of Rough Point’s inauguration as a Level 1 Arboretum. Historic Rough Point is home over 200 trees\, many of which were planted by Fredrick Law Olmstead over 130 years ago—and others that predate his time. To celebrate\, NRF will be holding a walk-and-talk of Rough Point’s gardens and grounds. NRF staff and the Newport Tree Conservancy will share the history of the grounds\, point out Olmsted’s plantings\, and discuss the natural and organic maintenance of the property.

DESCRIPTION:Block Island Residents Association and the town’s Coastal Resilience Committee will co-host a presentation and Q&A featuring Nantucket coastal resilience coordinator Leah Hill. Block Island and Nantucket face many of the same resiliency challenges\, including sea level rise\, coastal erosion\, and the need for community-driven adaptation strategies; Nantucket\, however\, is further along in its climate change impact risk assessment\, and coastal resilience planning\, development and implementation process. will share her expertise and lessons learned since she assumed the role in 2023.
