SUMMARY:Rhode Island Plant Insect Community Network Conference
DESCRIPTION:The Rhode Island Plant Insect Community Network will host a one-day conference bringing together a range of local organizations working on insect-related issues in the state. The keynote presenter for the conference will be Avalon Owens\, a research fellow at the Rowland Institute at Harvard University\, who will discuss “Floodlights and Fireflies: Environmental Sustainability Starts in Your Front Yard.” The Rhode Island Plant Insect Community Network is a program of the Rhode Island Natural History Survey.  The event is open to the public.

SUMMARY:ecoRI News Bowl-a-Thon at Dudek Lanes
DESCRIPTION:Join ecoRI News for a duckpin bowling fundraiser at Dudek Lanes for a fun\, low-key community night in support of independent environmental journalism in Rhode Island. Attendees can reserve an entire lane for a group (of five) or purchase an individual ticket to bowl on a community lane with others. People of all ages welcome. Your ticket includes: two hours of duckpin bowling shoe rental; light snacks.  Drinks and additional food available for purchase. Outside food is allowed. Cost is $34 per person or $162 to rent a lane for five people. All ages welcome.
