SUMMARY:Volunteer Day at Revive the Roots
DESCRIPTION:Join Revive the Roots for the monthly Volunteer Day (held February through November) to help care for the lands of Mowry Commons. The day starts with a check-in where the volunteer coordinator helps match skill and ability levels with tasks\, which vary depending on the weather\, time of the year and what needs to be done. Volunteers help with planting/weeding\, trail maintenance\, habitat restoration\, organizing\, tool repair and maintenance\, painting\, trash pickups\, building infrastructure and repair projects. All ages are welcome.

Join Rooftop Power for a casual\, educational session where we’ll break down real electric bills\, explain Rhode Island net metering\, and walk through what going solar actually looks like — step by step. Attendees are encouraged to bring their most recent electric bill and follow along as presenters explain it in plain English. Topics that will be covered include: wow to confidently read an electric bill; where electricity charges come from; how net metering works in Rhode Island; what it means to be a net producer vs. net consumer; how solar credits are earned and used throughout the year; and steps to going solar — from consultation to activation. Free pizza will be provided.
