SUMMARY:Rhode Island Youth Climate Conference
DESCRIPTION:Join the Rhode Island Environmental Education Association (RIEEA) and the Roger Williams Park Zoo for the Rhode Island Youth Climate Conference\, a free\, all-day event for youth ages 14–18. Participants must register in teams of 3–6 youth with one adult mentor. This immersive experience combines learning\, connection\, and action\, all focused on climate change and environmental leadership. One of the event’s key goals is for each team to begin developing ideas for a climate action plan they can bring back to their community. After the event\, teams will have the opportunity to receive support and apply for funding to turn their ideas into action. Throughout the day\, youth will build connections with peers from across the state\, explore climate science through hands-on activities\, and strengthen real-world skills like public speaking\, collaboration\, and leadership.

DESCRIPTION:The Tiverton Land Trust will leading group walks through the Hicks Farm property on Nov. 8 at 1 p.m.\, Nov. 16 at 9:30 a.m.\, and Nov. 22 at 9:30 a.m. For almost 300 years the property has been under the stewardship of the Hicks family\, which now seeks to conserve this as public green space.
