SUMMARY:Poetry of the Wild: Installation Celebration with the Hopkinton Land Trust
DESCRIPTION:Join the Hopkinton Land Trust at Canonchet Preserve (rain date: Sunday\, June 8) to celebrate the arrival of Poetry of the Wild in Hopkinton — a public art and nature project by ecological artist Ana Flores. This project invites visitors to take a walk and connect with the landscape through the installation of sculptural boxes\, each containing a poem. This event will include a short trail walk to two of the sculptural poetry boxes and poetry readings by featured poets Wanda Hopkins and Miles Hardingwood. The group will also place journals inside the boxes as a way to officially open the installations for community reflection and engagement. This event is free and all are welcome. Light refreshments will be served.

SUMMARY:Community Watershed Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The Scituate Reservoir watershed\, Barden Reservoir-Ponaganset River watershed\, and Moswansicut Pond-Huntinghouse Brook watershed do not have watershed assessments in place that address agriculture impacts on water quality. The Rhode Island Natural Resources Conservation Service has partnered with the Northern Rhode Island Conservation District to fund watershed assessments for the three watersheds in Providence County\, northwest Rhode Island. The watershed assessments aim to fulfill requirements needed to enter the implementation phase of the National Water Quality Initiative. The public meeting will present these watershed assessments for the Scituate Reservoir and surrounding areas and discuss findings and planning efforts with area farmers and community members. All are welcome to attend. An RSVP is not required but will be appreciated.
