Applications are now being accepted for the Rhode Island Environmental Education Association’s (RIEEA) 2022 Youth Leadership Program. This program is for teams of current 9th-12th grade Rhode Island students and their adult mentors. Teams should consist of three to six students from the same school or organization and a teacher, youth leader, or club advisor over 21 years of age. The program includes: an in-person retreat on Nov. 10, from 4-8 p.m.; direction and guidance from youth who participated in this program previously and RIEEA staff; a $500 stipend for teams to carry out a project that will promote environmental justice and/or improve environmental literacy in their school or community, and the opportunity to meet new people and have fun. This program made possible by the generous support of the Sierra Club Rhode Island, Avangrid Renewables, Rhode Island College, and Verizon Foundation.
