Jane’s Walk: Transportation in the City Center — Past, Present, and Future

  • Date

    May 6, 2023

  • Time

    3:00 pm

  • Location

    R.I. Statehouse

Starting on the Statehouse lawn, across the street from the train station, participants will observe, consider and discuss the history and current conditions of transportation in the downtown area. From the train station, the walk will proceed through Kennedy Plaza to the proposed location of a new downtown bus hub at Dorrance and Clifford streets. Jane’s Walk is a global festival of walking conversations inspired by urban activist Jane Jacobs. These interactive walks are led by local residents and community activists who share stories and ask questions that get people thinking, talking, and connecting with each other. Jane’s Walks are free, and anyone can participate. Wear comfortable shoes, meet your walk leader in the designated meeting spot, and get ready for a lively discussion.
