Fireside Lecture: New England Cottontails

Join the Norman Bird Sanctuary and Nick Ernst, a wildlife biologist with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service’s Rhode Island Refuge Complex, for a fireside lecture. Gather by the fire with a hot toddy to discuss the New England cottontail. This native rabbit has been severely impacted by habitat loss and competition from introduced Eastern cottontails. The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and its partners have been working to restore this species to part of its original range. This season, NBS is offering additional childcare option for families in the Curiosity Lab, its hands-on, STEAM-focused space.  A teacher-naturalist will be present while the lecture takes place and a fire roars on in the studio. All children must be fully potty-trained.
