Celebrate the dedication of the Ernie and Norma O’Leary Agricultural and Conservation Land. The Burrillville Land Trust acquired 65 acres off Croff Road, very close to the Connecticut border, in what was the first acquisition and preservation of agricultural land in northwestern Rhode Island. Twenty-two of the 65 acres will continue to be farmed just like Ernie O’Leary had wished by third-generation O’Leary farmers. No registration is required. There will be a brief speakers program; a meet-and-greet with the O’Leary family; and a leisurely walk in the wooded area next to and overlooking the agricultural fields; and a poetry reading by poet E. Merrill Root. Wear sturdy shoes.
