Industrial and government infrastructure impacts health and quality of life. So how can policies be changed to support environmentally resilient communities? And how can all people feel empowered to voice their right to healthy, safe, and environmentally resilient neighborhoods? Grassroots activists and a healthcare professional will discuss policy and sustainability efforts to address some of these challenges that neighborhoods in Providence face. Speakers include: Monica Huertas from People’s Port Authority, Vatic Kuumba from Providence Racial and Environmental Justice Committee, and Dr. Dannie Ritchie from Community Health Innovations of Rhode Island. This conversation is hosted by Lippitt House Museum, the Providence League of Women Voters, and the Southside Community Land Trust. The online event is free to attend, but registration is required.
