All are welcome to join the Blackstone Watershed Collaborative and our partners on the last four miles of a 4-day, 60 mile expedition down the Blackstone River raising awareness about the opportunities to steward, restore, and improve access to the river, also known as Kittacuck (Nipmuc) and Mishkittakooksepe (Narragansett). Thirty-four spots are available for free canoe rentals, generously provided by Friends of the Blackstone. Paddlers are also welcome to bring your own watercraft, though registration is required for all paddlers for insurance coverage (https://forms.gle/R1g5yL4BXK8gEon39). Participants will travel from Pawtucket’s Festival Pier and go four miles downstream to Gano Park in Providence. The paddle will kick off by 1:30 p.m. and arrive by 3:30 p.m., with a free celebration following the event at Narragansett Brewing (drinking-age paddlers also receive a free drink ticket and apps).
